“Best of the Plateau” — The Mint Restaurant and Server Katie Cunningham

We’re beyond honored to have received four “Best of the Plateau” awards as a restaurant, including first for Best American Food and Best Lunch, as well as second for Best Family Restaurant. We want to thank all of our loyal customers and congratulate Katie on her personal “Best of” award with a short feature posted below.

Katie has been expertly guiding your dining experiences at various Enumclaw establishments for over 13 years — always handy with an honest suggestion and ready to pick up the conversation where it left off whether you last saw her yesterday or a year ago.

The people she interacts with daily are what make this job so special to her. She truly loves her customers and wants to thank each and everyone of you. She says, “my customers are why I do it. They make me laugh and make me happy, they’re the reason I still have fun everyday at work.”

Come around to The Mint during lunch Monday-Thursday and say hi to Katie, pick out one of what she says are “the best burgers in town” (or try the cheeseburger sliders, her personal favorite). If you’re thirsty, Katie’s personally quite fond of The Mint’s large and constantly rotating beer selection, so don’t hesitate to indulge in one of her recommendations or stick with what you know and strike up a conversation with one of the best in the business.

In all fairness, he continues: “the Rainier’s great, but The Mint’s my favorite spot for lunch.” They talk about Enumclaw quite a bit as Kasey Kahne weighs in on Enumclaw’s restaurant scene in a broad-ranging interview on Seattle’s 950am-KJR sports radio program, The Furness Show (6/30). (Including, of course, the obligatory “Enumscratch” reference. The interview is fun.)

Ian and Puck caught up with Kahne as he was busy co-hosting (with Russell Wilson) his foundation’s second-annual charity golf tournament — this year benefiting Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Strong Against Cancer initiative.

Five acts of handsome and creative cowboys will be coming the Mint and surrounding venues tomorrow (Saturday, May 30th) — pull out your hats ‘n boots and join us for some good old-fashioned fun. 1 PM – 5 PM.

Stick at one venue to catch all five acts, or follow your favorite performer(s) around to see everything they have to offer. The event is family friendly and below you’ll find more information on the artists, venues, and the Cowboy Gathering in general.

New Dessert Menu at the Mint!

Inspired by local flair and sweets, we’re running our best dessert menu to date.

In addition to our classic lava cake, we have added a unique “fluffernutter” dessert that is like blending the comfort flavor combination of peanut butter and jelly with the experience of a campfire roasted marshmallow. We’ve added a salted caramel twist to our creme brulee and put cheesecake with fresh berries and almond-cookie streusel into a mason jar for your enjoyment, as well as added a fresh berry parfait with Chantilly cream and a gaufrette cookie.

So next time you’re in, save room for dessert! Don’t hesitate to ask your server for more details.

Inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Freddie king, Albert King, John Mayer, Otis Rush, Ray Charles, Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, and Beth Hart, Zach has developed a unique style and plays a blend of covers (of course done his way) and original music.

Brewer’s Night at the Mint: Hop Valley Brewing Co.

We’re excited to have Hop Valley Brewing Co. here with us for our March Brewer’s Night on Tuesday, March 24th.

We’ll get things kicked off around 6pm with beer and food specials, raffles and a heck of a good ol’ time.

About Hop Valley Brewing Co.

Our original idea was pretty simple. Four lifelong Oregonians with knowledge of the local beer market and a better understanding of craft beer just wanted to make some good beer. We found the perfect place to start smack dab in the middle of the old hop central, and the rest is history, albeit a very short history.

We never anticipated it would turn out this way so soon – rapid expansion, two locations, statewide distribution and lots of great-tasting, award-winning beer.

Raise Your Glass Day — Support Local Firefighters with Guinness

Join Guinness to raise $1 million for local firefighters.

Patrons of legal drinking age are invited to celebrate National Raise Your Glass Day on Thursday, Feb. 26, by sharing a photo of their Guinness pint on Twitter, tagging @GuinnessUS, or post it on the Guinness US Facebook page. For each photo posted, Guinness will donate $1 towards its fundraising efforts in support of firefighters.

Together we raised more than $530,000 last year for The Leary Firefighters Foundation. Our commitment continues with your support.

Between now and St. Patrick’s Day, join our efforts by making a donation or purchasing a limited edition t-shirt. Designed in collaboration with country music superstar Brad Paisley, the shirt is a tribute to firefighters everywhere, including his father and brother-in-law.

All proceeds will go toward the LFF to provide much-needed equipment and training.
